On September 7, 2009 the Mayor and City Council have Moncrivello approved with a motion expressing its opposition to the opening of new quarries. The Mayor and Council how to express their political will that is not spoiled by territory moncrivellese quarries reclamation or prone to mere exploitation of the subsoil. Natural resources are a cultural, social and economical to use (and do not use) but this thinking of course not forgetting the future generations. For these reasons, the City of Moncrivello wishes to object to requests for authorization for the opening of new quarries because they have adverse effects on groundwater, on landscape, culture, air quality and consequently on human health. Another problem linked to that motivates even more hollow our refusal concerns the environmental restoration and reuse of the site, often used as landfill. While saying no to quarries must face the problem of how to obtain aggregates for construction. In this regard we believe that should encourage reuse of inert recoverable from the rubble of buildings in demolition and cleaning of river beds.
